Fries With That?

Italian Hostage
Giuliana Sgrena, an Italian journalist was fired upon in Baghdad, March 4th 2005. She had been kidnapped and released when demands by ists were supposedly met. Her vehicle was racing towards a checkpoint outside the airport when US Forces fired warning shots. When ignored, they opened fire, killing an Italian intelligence officer that was shielding the journalist. Sgrena obtained some injuries.

The Justice Minister of Italy, Roberto Castelli, has warned Sgrena, asking her to watch what she says.

"Sgrena, I think, should perhaps be more careful. She has said a load of nonsense, speaks somewhat carelessly and makes careless comments."

Sgrena now denies ever saying that US Soldiers shot at her on purpose. The news reports show differently.

Stock And Bonds
Martha Stewart was released from jail last week. She will be under house arrest for the next 5 months.

Martha's stock rose while in prison, but has now lowered 25% since she's been out.

"Maybe she should go back into prison," says Luisa Kroll, Forbes billionaire list editor "She seems to have been doing better there."

Now that's harsh.

Court In-Jury
Michael Jackson's trial started this week. The former star showed up late complaining of sever back pain. He has been known to fake injuries before, to be absent from trials.

Rating Rather
Rather said his last goodbye this past week. CBS had the highest ratings on Dan's last night. That's unusual since they normally come in a distant third. Guess everyone was glad to see him go.

Courage.

It's Just Taxing
Federal Reserve Chairman, Alan Greenspan, thinks a consumption tax could be the way to go. Mixed with some of President Bush's comments on the subject be prepared to hear much more about this “flat tax” idea.

In other news, unemployment is down, the Dow is up and somehow the media still says Bush is doing a terrible job at improving economic conditions.

Mickey Moore Club
Apparently Fahrenheit 9/11 used, without permission, footage owned by Essam Deraz. Mr. Deraz spent almost four years filming Osama bin Laden.

"I was the only cameraman with the Arabs," said Deraz "All of those shots of bin Laden talking in the cave, talking into his walkie-talkie, they were all my work.

Michael Moore's attorney claims the anti-American producer obtained all necessary licenses for the footage used. Mr. Deraz says differently. This is not the first time allegations like this have been brought against Moore for his documentaries.

And remember, if you love America, paste this all over the web: Michael “Miserable Failure” Moore.
